Christian Education Committee
Adult Education: For those who would like to dig deeper into their knowledge of Christian faith and life. St. John’s offers adult education in a variety of relaxed and fun atmospheres. We offer a joint bible study, as well as both men’s and women’s study groups. For more information, please call our church office or check out our church calendar for times and dates.
Confirmation: The Program is geared towards 6th and 7th grade students. Over the course of two years students will gain a deeper understanding of Martin Luther Small Catechism, the Old Testament and the New Testament. Classes are held in the Fellowship Hall during the months of October – May. Class meets on Sunday morning from 9am – 10am. Upon successful completion of the program students will affirm their baptism.
Pre-Confirmation: 3rd-5th grade students are invited to meet on the first and third Sunday of the month in the church basement. This group meets during the months of October – May from 9am – 10am. The Spark’s Curriculum and student bibles are used to tie in with the Gospel lesson for the weekly sermon.
Sunday School: Children between the ages of Pre-School thru 5th grade are welcomed to join us during 10:15am church service in the basement after the children’s message. Children will have the opportunity to sing songs and hear the Gospel reading explained to them at an age appropriate level in a small group setting.
Youth Group: 6th grade – 12th grade students meet twice a month to hang out with their friends. During this time students discuss and decide the activities they would like to participate in. Students are invited to come as their schedules allow.
Vacation Bible School: What better way to end your summer vacation than joining us for VBS? Students between the ages of 3 years through 5th grade, along with staff have a blast hearing bible stories about our amazing Jesus. Students actively learn through music, arts and craft, story time and recreation. A tasty snack is provided to students and staff daily.
