Spirit of the Living God, make us one.
Spirit of the Living God, give us hope.
Spirit of the Living God, show us grace.
Spirit of the Living God, be with us now.
Remember the wondrous works he has done, all his marvelous works, and the justice he declared— you who are the offspring of Abraham, his servant, and the children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
Psalm 105:5-6

Lesson:

God fulfilled many promises that were made to the Israelites, bringing them into the Promised Land and fulfilling the covenants God made with them. This psalm is a hymn of praise to God for this fulfillment, calling the people to remember all God has done for them and their ancestors.
This is also a call for us today, to think back on how God has worked in our lives, and remember all that God has done for us in order to praise God and glorify the Lord. By looking back, we are able to look forward to what God will do in our lives now and in the future. Together, we are hopeful that we can come together, as one united in Christ, to live as Jesus lived.
For centuries and centuries, God united a people and kept promises to them despite difficult circumstances. Even now, God continues to unite us in Jesus, calling us to live each day in praise for the promises that have and will be fulfilled by God in our own lives.

Prayer:

Spirit of God, help me to remember the wonderful works you have done in my life and in the lives of those around me. Let me not lose hope that you will continue to do wonderful works for your glory in my life. May I come as one with my neighbors and friends to praise you for all that you have done and all that you will do. Amen.
